3 Tips To Help You Successful Launch Your Boat

Before you can spend time out on the water in your boat, you must first get your boat into the water. Launching your boat can be a complicated process, which is why any tips to make the process smoother can be so helpful.

Tip #1: Wear the Right Clothing

When launching your boat and go out on the water, you need to make sure you are wearing the right clothing. Wear clothing that can get wet without getting waterlogged.

When putting your boat into the water, pay attention to your shoes. Sandals are not the best shoes to wear when launching your boats, as they can easily slip off your feet. You want to wear shoes that enclose your feet, are waterproof, and are breathable. Also, make sure your clothing will not get caught on the boat.

Tip #2: Waterproof Important Items

Before putting your boat into the water, you are going to be putting important items into the boat. For things such as your wallet, keys, and phone, don't just set them in the boat, unprotected. Instead, put these important items inside a waterproof bag. Make sure you have small waterproof bags for everyone who will be on your boat. Waterproof bags will help keep all your items safe during launching and while out on the water.

If you don't like being wet, put a set of dry clothing inside of a waterproof bag, so you have clothing to change into when you come in from the water.

Tip #3: Keep Your Windows Down

When you are launching your boat, roll down the windows on your truck as you position your boat to get it into the water. Having your windows down will allow you to lean out of your windows and get a better view. Additionally, having your windows rolled down will allow you to hear directions from whoever is helping you get your boat into the water. You will be able to hear more easily, if anyone yells at you. There is often a lot of traffic around boat launches, and anything that you can do to make yourself more aware during the boat launch is a good thing.

When launching a boat, make sure you have waterproof bags for all your important items. Wear the right clothing, and make sure you have on shoes that will give you traction and keep you safe while launching your boat. While you are unloading your boat, make sure you have someone to help you, and keep your windows down so you can be as aware of your surroundings as possible.
